as a personal luxury coupe this car sets the benchmark by which all others are judged.

When are you going to paint it yellow?

When will you repaint it?

I like this generation Riviera. The color is pretty horrendous tho.

Wasn’t a fan at first but it’s growing on me.
Not my type of car, but I can see the appeal. It's pretty cool. :)

Some dark wheels would really tie it together.

Agreed. Even the stockers would look good in gunmetal grey

It needs to change but damn I’ve been busy (also the nissan is preoccupying me)

When I stop getting distracted by turboing the Miata and fixing the Nissan

Yeah I got progressively more hyped.
“Woah! LeSabre on the front page!”
“Oh, cool, a legitimate article of praise!”
“OH DAMN THAT’S ME”

LOL I think that would have been my reaction too.

The Riviera/LeSabre/Park Avenue triplets are some of the best examples of that era in “everyman” American cars along with the Chrysler 300m (dat engine). Big, comfy, very nice interiors, reliable as all hell, omnipresent parts availability, floaty.
I wish cars like that were still made. Nowadays the Buick LaCrosse is the closest analogue. I can’t say I would mind one done up like this Murdersofa 2.0 concept I made (stupid kinja that was not supposed to be at the top of the comment)

I know what you mean. I used to drive a 1992 LeSabre (which means I totally missed out on the more powerful later Series II). I eventually sold it because I wanted to become better at driving stick, and I figured that wasn’t going to happen until I made one my daily driver. But I still look back fondly on that car.
That color scheme is badass. It reminds me of a G6 in my area that looks a lot like it (it doesn’t have those cop wheels, though).

Nah, naturally aspirated because reliability

I’ve got one, with the blown L67. It’s beyond reliable - pretty much bulletproof, making 300 HP @ 14PSI boost. Here’s what I used to do with this car when I had more free time:

That’s probably gonna be the best thing I see all day.

For once I’m not going to turn this into a picwhoring opportunity. Too much to do.
May remedy that later.
